Two Papers Accepted at ITiCSE

AI Pedagogy research from the BOOP project headed to Spain

Two papers from the Lab's Adaptive and Inclusive CS Pedagogy project have been accepted at ITiCSE (Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education), one of the leading conferences in computer science education.

Student Researchers

Students Ayush Thonge and Vaani Goenka will present the work at the conference in Spain in July 2026. Both students have been key contributors to the BOOP platform, which provides adaptive, inclusive tools for teaching introductory computer science.

About BOOP

The BOOP (Block-based and Object-Oriented Programming) platform was developed under the supervision of Prof. Aalok Thakkar at Ashoka University's Department of Computer Science. The platform has been deployed in the Introduction to Computer Science course at Ashoka (Spring 2026 semester), with a large-scale study involving 130 students. Python support was added to BOOP this quarter.

SocraticAI was also recently featured as a case study in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's Compendium on the Real-World Impact of AI in Education, launched at the India-AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on February 17, 2026.
